The Dane County Landfill recycles tires for $0.17 a pound ($350 per ton) in 2026. Madison charges $5 per car tire off the rim and $10 on the rim, only to homes without city recycling. Waste tires have been banned from Wisconsin landfills since January 1, 1995.

- Stoughton: up to two tires per bulk pickup, eight a year.
- DeForest: two tires a month on the bulk day.
- Town of Christiana: tires called in to GFL for the monthly bulk day.
- Verona: up to four off-rim tires at the Public Works site, fee applies.
- Fitchburg: $29 per car tire, $34 per truck tire, off the rim (Pellitteri, 2025).
- Marshall: GFL does not take tires in its pay-per-item pickup.
